In July 2019 over 20 Friends of Parks groups in Barnet came together to form the Barnet Green Spaces Network. The group is convened and run by volunteers and is completely independent of the Council. We now have over 60 members working together, and with the Council, to promote and support all parks and greenspaces in Barnet.
We hold 3 or 4 meetings a year in person. These are opportunities to meet with other groups and with Council Officers from the Greenspaces and Tree Team. In advance of meetings we call for questions from groups for the Greenspaces and Tree Team and circulate the responses along with an up-date from the Barnet Team on issues concerning parks and open spaces in the borough.
We try not to swamp members with emails but we also send emails with information on training, funding and other issues when we hear about them.
Contact us at barnetgsnetwork@gmail.com if you would like to receive copies.
