The type of personal information we collect

You are a member of Barnet Green Spaces Network as a representative of your Friends group.  If you are no longer the nominated representative, you must notify us at and your name and contact details will be removed from our database. 

We currently collect and process the following information:

  • Your given and family names
  • The Friends group(s) which you represent
  • Your email address

You are able to remove your consent at any time.  You can do this by contacting Barnetgsnetwork@gmail.com . Your details will be removed from the database.  A search will be made of all emails and any to or from you will be deleted unless they include others and the information is necessary for the functioning of the Network.

We will never share your information with any other organisation or individual without your consent.

How we get the personal information and why we have it

We only process personal information provided to us directly by you because you wish to join Barnet Green Spaces Network or to receive information from us.

We use the information that you have given us in order to send you:

  • information about the Network, its meetings, the advice and support that is available from the Network or from the London Borough of Barnet;
  • to ask about the support you would like for your group from the Network or from the London Borough of Barnet or to ask what support you might provide to other members.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful basis we rely on for processing this information is your consent.  You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting Barnetgsnetwork@gmail.com

How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored in the Cloud.  We use a list processing system to manage our distribution list which holds a list of names and email addresses only.  This can be accessed only by the Roger Chapman, Chair of Barnet Green Spaces Network, Suzanne King, and the Deborah Linton, Secretary of the Network.

We keep your name and email address and the organisation that you represent until you or your replacement tell us that you no longer represent that Friends group.  We will then dispose of your information by removing it from the database.  A search will be made of all emails and any to or from you will be deleted unless they include others and the information is necessary for the functioning of the Network.

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.

Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

Your right to restriction of processing – You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to data portability – You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
